For the third time, the Red Bull Ring of Spielberg, the Gp of Austria, is contested on the renewed circuit owned by Red Bull. Once it was called A1 Ring, and in the two races played in 96 and 97 Criville and Doohan won. Historically, the Grand Prix was raced on the Salzburgring circuit from 71 to 94 where Agostini, Roberts, Lawson and Schwantz triumphed three times. With this latest edition we are at the third consecutive Ducati triumph in MotoGP. But let’s go in order.

Italian double win in Moto3. Bezzecchi hits the result after the first pole of his career: it’s his second victory in Moto3 after a battle with a heroic Martin, who finishes third only a week after the operation to his injured wrist in Brno. Second place for Enea Bastianini, who concludes the race with an incredible comeback over the last two laps. Our Darryn Binder and Kazuki Masaki finish respectively in 17th and 21st positions, authors of a race on the defensive, another experience accumulated for the Japanese rookie…

In Moto2, a new battle between Bagnaia and Oliveira, both already projected to MotoGP levels, in terms of character and speed expressed. After a series of spectacular overtaking, the Italian wins the race. Now the world championship is between them. Good performance for our Brad Binder; he starts eighth, improves the ranking of two positions finishing sixth and celebrating his 23rd birthday with another top6. Good eighth for Joan Mir of the Team Estrella Galicia, who started 20th recovering many positions, while the team-mate Alex Marquez, unlucky falls on the last corner of the last lap.

Epic race in MotoGP. Lorenzo wins after a close and fair duel with Marquez in the last ten thrilling laps. Ducati in Austria has done the en plein since racing at the Red Bull Ring, with 3 victories in the last 3 years: after Iannone in 2016, Dovizioso in 2017, this weekend is the turn of the Mallorcan. It is again `Lorenzo il Magnifico`, victory number 47 in MotoGP career, the third this year after Mugello and Barcelona. Marquez second, he wanted to win even if he could settle, as a champion he gave everything up to the finish line.

Dovizioso completes the podium, in the last laps he could no longer keep the monstrous rhythm of the two future Spanish teammates in Honda. As Italian fans,we want to thank Ducati, as the MotoGP would certainly be more boring, without the reds on the track.

Regarding the Team Suzuki Ecstar, Alex Rins starts fighting and in the very first laps he’s among the first, then defends himself finishing eighth, while team-mate Andrea Iannone closes the race 13th. The two Marc VDS Racing Team rookies unfortunately close in the rear, Morbidelli is 17th and Luthi 22th.

Let’s begin to talk also about Red Bull rookie cup, where future champions grow. In the Austrian round, the American Sean Kelly got a tenth and a seventh place in the two races. Now during the break until Misano he will be able to train with his new Schuberth helmet with the brand new helmet design that we created and produced a few weeks ago.

Next appointment with the MotoGP in two weeks, in the legendary Silverstone circuit. Two years ago Maverick Vinales dominated on Suzuki. It’s still difficult for us to tell our feeling. We are proud that the Spanish talent has taken his first victory in the top class – and you never forget your first –  with our helmet design. We hope to see him again among the first in the British GP, given the objective difficulties that the Yamaha team is going through this year. Stay tuned!
