GP of Germany, last act for Sachsenring circuit. From 2019 there will be a new circuit for the German GP, maybe Nurburgring or Hockenheim.

During last nine years we have always seen amazing race, due to its particular conformation and leftist development. This last race in Sachsenring has seen the victory of Marc Marquez for the nine time in a row (!).

From his first victory in 2010 in the 125cc class to the last of this weekend in MotoGP (six consecutive victories in this class), he has closed the Sachsenring chapter with a truly unique seal, pole, victory and fast lap in the race. “Monstrous” is maybe the right adjective. He reminds us more and more of a certain Mick Doohan, who in fact after the race, in the park closed, went to congratulate the Spaniard.

But let’s get to the races. In Moto3 we have seen  the debut of Raul Fernandez in Team Red Bull Ajo, substitute of the injured Darryn Binder.

The young Spaniard spared no efforts with excellent qualifications and a race going on the offensive in the savage heap of Moto3. If he had not been touched when he was around the sixth position he would certainly have arrived in the top 6.

Not giving up he made a comeback to the limit recovering from the bottom of the standings to the ninth place only 5 seconds behind the leader. Our congratulations to Raul for this great performance!

The small Japanese Masaki of Team RBA BOE Skull Rider arrived 15th, showing steps forward in the race pace. Aron Canet of Team EG 0,0 closes fifth after the battle for the podium.

“Historic” Moto2 race. Brad Binder of Team Red Bull Ajo won the race: he’s  the first South African to win a GP in Moto2 and he celebrates his “first” victory in career in this difficult class. After a qualifying in 10th position, in the morning warm-up he was the fastest. In the race Brad immediately unleashed with a comeback that led him in a few laps to fight for the podium with Marini and the young rookie of Team EG 0.0 Marc VDS Joan Mir. Then with a great race pace he put himself in first position and did not give up until the finish line, fighting against the degradation of the tires.

We are really proud that Brad has taken his first victory in this category with our helmet design.

Mir finished second with his best result this season and important points in the championship for the rookie of Team EG 0.0 Marc VDS.

As anticipated above, in MotoGP the weekend was dominated by Marquez in a truly exceptional way.

On the podium the two official Yamaha of Rossi and Vinales. For the Suzuki Ecstar Team it was hard to accept that both Iannone and Rins riders were penalized by contact after a few turns caused by Pol Espargaro.

Alex had the worst slipping, while Iannone slowed down from the last positions and had to make a difficult race to comeback ending in 12th position.

For the Team EG 0.0 Marc VDS then another difficult weekend. Morbidelli had to give up for the fractured hand in Assen, replaced by Bradl who finished 16th followed by Luthi 17th.

Unfortunately, in the Friday practice, our Mika Kallio, wild card of the Red Bull KTM team, was the author of a terrible fall. After finishing up against the barriers, his bike hit his leg hurting his knee. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to the Finnish rider.

Now the usual summer break up to Brno (5 August), it will be hard not to hear the roar of the MotoGP for three weeks … stay tuned!
